BEHIND THE LENS
MY JOURNEY AS A PHOTOGRAPHER
"Every portrait is rooted in the stories lived, the beauty witnessed, and the belief that photography is more than an image."
Maybe it started with my grandfather, whose love for the craft I was lucky to inherit. But it wasn’t until my mid twenties that I chose to return to the States, earn my degree in photography, and step fully into this path as my life’s work.
Today I photograph artists, individuals, and creative professionals through my portrait studio, Calderón Foto, in Columbus, Georgia.
Over the years, I’ve moved away from traditional labels like boudoir or branding photography. Instead, I focus on something deeper, photographing the human form and spirit in a way that is raw, artful, and deeply human. Whether my subject is clothed or unclothed, in a studio or on location, every portrait is an exploration of movement, presence, and emotion.
My approach is minimal and intentional, centering on who you are, not just how you look. At my core, it’s about capturing something real, something personal.
"You don’t have to fit into a category. You just have to show up as yourself."
ABOUT
Tania Calderón is a portrait photographer and artist based in Columbus, Georgia, serving clients throughout the region including Atlanta. Through her studio, Calderón Foto, she creates editorial-style portraits for artists, individuals, and creative professionals seeking images that feel personal, expressive, and deeply human.
Her work explores the quiet presence of the human form, creating portraits that move between personal portraiture, editorial expression, and fine-art influence. Each session is guided with a calm approach that allows people to settle into themselves rather than perform for the camera.
