HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SHOOT
At Calderón Foto we are all about celebrating your natural beauty and cultivating the inner glow. To make sure you look your best I've come up with a list of TIP's to help you prepare for your photoshoot and things to avoid.
#1 SLEEP: Get a good night's sleep, at least 8hrs. Avoid red puffy eyes. Not sleeping enough can lead to unhealthy and bad looking skin (fine lines, wrinkles, lackluster skin, etc.).
#2 NOURISHMENT: Eat less salt the day before so you don't feel bloated the next day. The morning of have some fruit and avoid food/drink that may stain your teeth. (do not skip breakfast, you are going to need the fuel).
#3 H20: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Water is your best friend. Avoid caffeine and alcohol 12hrs prior, and then lots of water the morning of.
#4 HAIR REMOVAL: Saves me time in post, eyebrows shaped 1-2 days prior. If you need to groom, I suggest a day or two before so there’s no redress from harsh hot oils, razors, etc.
#5 NAILS: Please know that your nails may show in the photos, so make sure they are manicured and a color you are okay with if they are painted. Blush or nude is timeless.
#6 SKIN: Exfoliate 1-2 days prior to making sure your skin is looking it's best. If you prefer a warm summer glow and like a spray tan do it 3-4 days ahead.
#7 WARDROBE: Bring 3 - 5 looks with you. Pick out what makes you feel comfortable for the look you are going for. Professional, Fashion, Boudoir, etc. Prepare proper undergarments, lingerie, accessories for that day.
#8 HAIRSTYLING: How do you normally wear your hair? This is not a time to do something completely out of the box, so maybe stick to your routine but by all means feel free to jazz it up with loose waves, or curls for extra body. Touch up your roots, just don't die it a different color unless you know what you are going to get and even then try to see your colorist 2 - 3 days in advance.
#9 MAKEUP: Some women chose to have their makeup professionally done the morning of however I strongly believe in the power of natural beauty. Feel free to do your makeup the way you feel most attractive. That can be as little or as much as you like. If I see anything that might need a touch up I'll be sure to help you with that.
#10 TRUST: I know a photoshoot can feel really daunting and exciting at the same time. I want you to know that I've got you! I love what I do, and I am on your team. I will gently guide you throughout your entire shoot and that includes posing down to your toes. I will make sure you look and feel your very best. I look forward to your shoot!!!
